About In Motion Physical Therapy

The clinic that treats the cause.

Most clinics manage your symptoms and call it a plan. We built this place to end them: one-on-one, with a licensed physical therapist, every single visit.

Our Story

This isn’t our story. It’s yours.

Dr. Joseph Moskowitz, PT, DPT, Founder

Dr. Joseph Moskowitz graduated with honors from the physical therapy program at Hunter College in New York, then kept going: a post-professional doctorate in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and a Certificate of Vestibular Competency earned while working at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. The orthopedic training shapes most of what he treats: backs, necks, shoulders, knees, post-surgical recovery and sports injuries. The vestibular certificate is the extra specialty, and it is why people arrive here after being told their dizziness was nothing, and leave with a name for it.

He built In Motion around one decision: he would treat people himself. Not hand you to an aide with a printout. Not run three patients at once and check in between sets. One clinician, your whole visit, every visit. It is a smaller practice because of that choice, and the reviews keep saying the same thing back: attentive, thorough, easy to reach.

You are not walking into a chain. You are walking into a room in University Heights where somebody is going to ask what you actually want to get back to, and then build the plan backwards from there. The people who do best here are the ones who fix things: their houses, their teams, their families. This is where they finally fix the thing they’ve been putting off: themselves.

What We Believe

Four things we’ll never compromise.

Your time. Not shared.

No techs bouncing between rooms, no handoffs mid-visit. Just you and a licensed physical therapist, the whole time.

Cause first. Symptoms follow.

You’ve probably chased the pain itself before and never found why it started. We find the why, then the ache stops coming back.

Plans end. That’s the point.

You shouldn’t need a punch card. Every plan comes with a graduation date, so you always know how close you are.

You’re not a protocol.

Your job, your body, your goals: that’s what your plan is built around, never pulled from a generic sheet.

The Difference

Not your typical clinic.

A typical clinic

  • You explain your pain to a different aide every visit
  • Your visit gets split with two other patients
  • The same pain creeps back in a few months
  • No graduation date, just book again next week

In Motion Physical Therapy

  • One-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit
  • Your full visit, uninterrupted, every time
  • A cause-first evaluation before we treat anything
  • A plan with an endpoint, mapped out on day one

Feel the difference in your first visit.

Rooted in University Heights

This is our neighborhood too.

We treat University Heights: your neighbors, your teammates, your kids’ coaches. The mom who’s been pushing through it so nobody else has to worry? She’s probably on our schedule too. Recovery is a lot more personal when it’s local.
